AMSTERDAM - Last night, the game has gone bye Edwin van der Sar. Former Manchester United goalkeeper, Fulham and Juventus was proud of his fans applause.Yes, Van der Sar admitted he was surprised to see an audience which filled the whole bench AmsterdamArena Stadium on Wednesday (08/03/2011) evening local time, just to menyaksikkan friendship match.
"This is quite remarkable. It's very fantastic and touching me. I am is someone who does not like the spotlight. Getting a game night like this is extraordinary," said Van der Sar after the game.
"A lot of fans and players who did not so I expect to attend. I am certainly aware've done something for Dutch football and United, but get a welcome like this is simply not there in my mind," he continued.
Van der Sar did not forget to thank her family. He also prayed to his former club Ajax Amsterdam for success next season. "I want to thank Ajax for this unforgettable evening," said Van der Sar.
"Also thanks for all the players of Ajax, who look my best. I'm practicing with you all yesterday and I am sure you will achieve success in the Dutch league next season," continued the former Dutch national team goalkeeper's number one.
"Ultimately, I want to thank my wife and family for their support in recent years. Thanks for everything," said Van der Sar, as reported by the Goal, Thursday (08/04/2011).
